Provence Platters French Oak Ice Bucket

Provence Platters reclaims retired wine barrels from vineyards in the countryside of Napa or Bordeaux and turns each one into stunningly beautiful serving pieces and barware, like this ice bucket. Like great wine, every piece from Provence Platter takes time and skill to perfect. Each piece takes four or five years to make, from drying out retired wine barrels all the way to using woodworking techniques, like tongue-and-groove joinery, to seamlessly assemble the ice bucket. It’s perfect for chilling wine or champagne; a stainless steel liner protects the French oak staves from exposure to moisture. And it’s finished with iron handles, forged by hand in Brooklyn the old-fashioned way: by heating and hand-bending each piece.

Every ice bucket is handcrafted and entirely unique (many will bear their original cooperage marks, which share the origins and construction of each barrel). These are some of the most stunning, elegant reclaimed pieces we’ve seen yet—each one is truly a collectible statement piece.
